Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Day (6th January 2011)
Save Girls & Environment

On 6th January 2010, Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Day was celebrated across the network (at 17 places - including 15 facilities, Community Hospital in Amethi and Fortis Corporate office) by inaugurating sapling nurseries, planting trees in hospital compounds and gifting saplings to patients. This day was observed with great fervor across the network with an enthusiastic involvement from the hospital employees. This celebration marked a pan India commemoration to this important movement of nurturing the girl child, promoting women's empowerment and creating awareness on environment protection.

Fortis Corporate Office
Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Day at the Corporate Office (FEHI), was presided over by Mr. Salman Khurshid, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs & Minority Affairs as Chief Guest and Director – Pediatric Surgery, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, as Guest of Honour. School students presented a contemporary dance performance based on the issue of female infanticide. Two young girls - beneficiaries of our CSR programme were gifted saplings by the Chief Guest. The programme concluded with the ceremonial planting of saplings.

Fortis Escorts Hospital Jaipur
Representatives from Government of Rajasthan, community leaders, industry, employees participated in the program hosted at the hospital premises. Leaders from many communities in presence of the Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment as Chief Guest, pledged their support to the cause & exhorted the hospital to do even more such initiatives. Saplings were planted in the Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Nursery and also gifted to all guests and participants.

Fortis Escorts Hospital Faridabad
All the hospital employees, patients, attendants in the facility and visitors came together in support of these concerns. Civil Surgeon, Faridabad was the Chief Guest for the event, who spoke at length on the importance of this initiative by Fortis Foundation and its impact. The audience attending to a Skit on the theme of female infanticide and saplings were gifted to the mother of a few days old baby girl born in the hospital.

Fortis Malar Hospital
The Fortis Nanhi Chhaan nursery was inaugurated in the hospital premises. Senior doctors from the facility planted the saplings in the nursery. A special HTML was organised for the employees and 100 saplings were distributed to doctors, employees and patient attendants. More than 50 people from within the facility participated in the event.

 

Fortis Jessa Ram
The programme was inaugurated by MLA; Karol Bagh who was the Chief Guest and President BJP; Karol Bagh as Guest of Honour. The inauguration was followed by a skit on female infanticide by the hospital staff. Saplings were planted by the guests and employees including senior doctors and 50 saplings were distributed to employees, patient, attendants and doctors.

Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar
On this day at Fortis Amritsar, the Nanhi Chann Nursery was  inaugurated and saplings  were planted by daughters of the employees. 300 saplings were gifted to nursing students, patients and staff members. The occasion was graced by Member of Legislative Party, representatives from Nanhi Chhaan Foundation, employees and their families.

 

Fortis Escorts Raipur
Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Nursery was inaugurated and saplings were planted by the facility’s leading clinicians - Chief Cardiologist, Chief Cardiac Surgeon and Chief NIC. Saplings were also gifted to female patients and attendants. The event was also covered by local media.

 

 

Fortis Escorts Heart Institute
Senior doctors and management staff in FEHI spoke about the concept of Nanhi Chhaan. They all planted saplings and pledging their support for this cause. A painting competition for school children was organized and saplings were also planted by these children of Dev Samaj Modern School in the premises of the facility.

 

Fortis Hospital Mohali
Chief Secretary of, Haryana was the chief guest for the celebrations in Mohali hospital. Board Member of Fortis Healthcare Ltd., Justice S. S. Sodhi also participated in the celebrations along with several members of the Rotary International Club, senior doctors and employees. A skit and a choreographed song, very apt for the occasion was presented by girl students of ITI Mohali in partnership with the Family Planning Association of Punjab. Saplings were gifted to all guests, doctors and employees and the occasion concluded with plantation of 5 trees by the guests.

Fortis Ft. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital
The DCP (South) was the Chief Guest for the celebrations in Fortis Vasant Kunj, he along with other guests planted saplings in the Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Nursery. This was followed by a dance performance by the children of a non-profit organization ‘CHAMAN’ and play by the FHVK nursing dramatics team which highlighted the importance and plight of the girl child. The chief guest later presented saplings to female employees of the facility.

Fortis La Femme
Celebration started with painting competition of underprivileged children of a non-profit organization, ‘V Care’. Secretary of Delhi Women League & District Secretary of Lioness Club graced the occasion & highly appreciated Fortis Foundation for this noble social initiative. Team Marketing of FLF enacted role play on Female infanticide. The celebration ended with distribution of saplings to the guests, doctors & member of Lioness club followed by a ceremonial planting at the Fortis Nanhi Chhaan Nursery. The saplings were also distributed to all female patients

Fortis Shalimar Bagh
President BJP, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, who had come to the facility for his medical examination, planted a sapling at the Fortis Nanhi Chaan nursery early in the morning. The MLA of the constituency was the chief guest for the facility’s Nanhi Chhaan Day celebrations. A play on female infanticide was enacted by the employees of the facility, followed by speeches by the guests, who pledged their support for this cause. All the guests later planted saplings and the mother of a new born girl child was congratulated and gifted a sapling, which she herself planted in the hospital premises.

Fortis SL Raheja Hospital
The facility celebrated the Nanhi Chhaan Day by planting saplings in the nursery. The Doctors and seniors staff members distributing the saplings to the children and patients admitted in the Hospital.
